Peebles- Scone Heaven

It takes a couple in receipt of two bus passes and a certain amount of dedication and not a little 'want' as they say, to visit Peebles just for a visit to Scone Heaven at Coltman's Restaurant, although His Lordship and I did offset some of the calories with a walk along the Tweed.

The scones in question, walnut and cranberry since you ask, are so risen and crusty, that when halved horizontally they are the size of two normal ones. With jam and cream they are the scones of Gods, but I can see by your eyes that I am beginning to bore you.

Let me bore you further by telling you, as if you didn't know already, that it was properly Baltic this morning with cloud and another east wind.
The cycle counter on Middle Meadow walk said 10 degrees, but the wind chill must have made it seem lower.
If perchance you are sitting on Barra or the West Highlands in a bikini, I'd rather you didn't say. It is obvious Mr Muphry is still stalking me.
