Roadies.
At this moment in time the city centre in Edinburgh has more holes in its infrastructure than a Swiss cheese. Anyone with shares in scaffolding, plastic barriers or heavy machinery is doing well.
Apart from the Grand Canyon like hole not 300 yards from the Dower House which is destined to become home to a modern glass office block, this view ( where I have been 'clocked' by one tar spreader) not much further away is of the re organising of Chambers Street which is intended to provide a pedestrian area outside the museum, thereby constraining the road width.
If the original on-street parking is removed, then the patience of motorists will be further tried. It may be the city fathers' surreptitious way of attempting to reduce car use, but more likely it will cause yet more traffic chaos in the city centre as car owners cruise about looking for a parking spot.
More importantly today, the sun is shining again and the sun umbrella has been hoisted on the patio for the second day running. My cup runneth over with vitamin D but there will be no lipstick marks on the rim as I forget to put any of my new lippy on this morning.
Now where did I put my sunglasses?
