Fraser Island: Day 1
We left the hostel at about 8am. There six drivers in our vehicle ("car 4") of eight people, so we decided to split the driving to half a day each. I said I'd go second. Alice, the only other Brit in car 4, drove first. We also had Roger & Bob from the Netherlands, Bibi & Evie also from the Netherlands and Hannah & Christian from Germany.
We had a short journey to the ferry and a quick crossing over to Fraser Island. Driving along the beach in the 4WD was fun and we all started to get to know each other. We went inland to a lake for a swim and then had lunch where we continued to get to know our group. In the afternoon we did some pipi racing where we all had to find live pipi shells (shellfish like a clam), line up and place them on the sand and wait for them to bury themselves back in to the sand.
We got to our camp where the tents were all set up for us. We started drinking at 4pm and it quickly moved to drinking games. Car 4 were all amazing. I was very lucky with my group. We all peaked a bit early and were in bed before midnight. It was such a great day with amazing people.
