Careers Advice . . .

Our school had a visit from 'Rob' a serving soldier who had recently seen action in Helmand Province in Afghanistan.

One of the students is here volunteering to try on a flak jacket loaded with kit to get an idea of the weight soldiers moves around with. Probably the most arresting part of Rob's insightful presentation was what he said about the importance of breakfast to any soldier in service.

"If the Commanding Officer ever got to hear of one of his soldiers missing breakfast, that soldier  would face serious disciplinary action and could even be dishonorably discharged. Breakfast is considered  crucial to a soldier's effectiveness. Without breakfast, a soldier might perform below his best or even faint, posing a risk to his or her colleagues. "
