Diary of an Edinburgher

Good news

Good news! My joints might need fixing, but my joists are fine! Yippee. Mark came this morning and carefully lifted a couple of floorboards, and to our deep joy, found it all shipshape underneath. I'm sure the flat on the other side will not be so lucky, because their joists were visible from the exterior passageway wall, and were clearly rotting.

What a treasure Mark is - he took such care lifting the floorboards. Archie seemed quite enamoured with him in the end too. If you need any renovation work done in Edinburgh, I can thoroughly recommend Mark and his team.

Other good news - I am on the mend. A peaceful sleep last night and most of my unpleasant symptoms have disappeared. Though I'm taking it easy in case of a relapse. Perhaps medicinal chocolate will be needed.

It's a lovely sunny day - positively warm in the front garden. A couple of washings hung out, and Archie and JR went up the Hill. But naughty Arch - he rolled in something disgusting! The Hill is usually devoid of such undesirable doggie magnets, but it must be the same patch that Bailey rolled in yesterday. So a bonus bath for him.

The Poll Cards for the forthcoming EU Referendum have arrive. I have a month to decide. Brexit or Bremain? I watched this film. It's quite long, but I found it compulsive viewing. I've now decided.
