Abbey Treat

It was one of those rare moments when you could get a clear view of the historic Norman Abbey in the Hampshire market town of Romsey, uninterrupted by parked cars, or even shoppers taking a short cut, or visitors.
The beauty of the architecture doesn’t change, of course, but it is surprising just what a difference is made to the perspective of the view through the absence of cars.
Not that I should complain too much, because the square by the Abbey, Church Place as it is known, provides handy parking when you are making only a quick visit to the town centre, and I make use of the few parking places here regularly.  Indeed, today, just before I took my Blipfoto you would have found me parked here while I made a quick visit to the bank.

On my return here, walking though, I found it a surprising treat to have this uninterrupted view in the middle of the day.
