Postcard

Cloudy and rainy day had its sunny moments as can bee seen from the picture. I spent most of the day with Emma, we visited Tays among other things. There was an interesting Bell Garden called Kellopuutarha – Matsukaze. A detail of one of the bells can be seen in the extras. The Bell Garden is a Japanese style art space that consists of three bronze bells with reliefs of nature and poems with braille. The source of inspiration lies in the bronze ritual bells from the Japanese Yayoi period. In the surface of each bell there are two Japanese tanka poems translated to braille as well as nature reliefs in accordance with the theme of the poem. The bells are positioned at the height of touch being able to be played by a special hammer that enables two different sounds. Bells are made by Jarmo Vellonen.

One of the Tanka poems on a bell:

Do not feel downcast,
you blossoms of the cherry
high in the mountains
with nobody to praise you -
I will be your admirer!

Ilu, you'll receive a congratulations card on your High School graduation :)
