We have Lift Off

Finally we have lift off.  We have been waiting for months for this NASA weather balloon to be launched from the Wanaka Airport.  We noticed that the road to the airport had a detour, so decided to head to Dean's Bank to see the launch from there.  We were thrilled to see the balloon head skywards, and watched for about 15 minutes as it glided across the sky to the east.  (going left)

After watching the big launch, my visitors and I did a tiki tour of Wanaka, including a trip to see little 'h's new house in Luggate.  We then drove around the new Retirement Village, looking at everyone's houses and gardens.  This afternoon we walked down to the lake, and enjoyed the beautiful lake scenery now that the rain has gone.

Have the fire going as it has clouded over again.  I am enjoying their company, and are reminiscing about the good old days!
