It was too sunny a morning to spend an hour indoors at the gym (that's what I'd intended) so instead drove to White Moss and walked up through the woods and along to Grasmere (the lake, not the village). 

I kept stopping in the woods to take photos  as there were some great shadows and patches of light. Saw a Great Spotted Woodpecker and got a rather distant shot of that.  Then out onto the fell and into the sunshine.
