Dock Gate 46
We were all up early, a light breakfast before finishing off the final packing. Our taxi was due at 2pm, so we had egg and bacon on toast after midday to tide us over until dinner onboard this evening.
Taxis were on time and whisked us over to Southampton Docks in no time. Embarkation was a doddle; we were on board with our luggage unpacked by 3.30pm......well all bar one case! SiLs case went walkabout which was more than a little worrying as their medication was in it too! After a nervy couple of hours it was tracked down, no label.......but alls well that ends well, as they say ;-)
Britannia is a huge ship, the cabins are a little more spacious and modern as she is still relatively new.
After practising our Muster stations drill, we set sail at 5pm on calm seas.
This shot was taken from our balcony on Deck 11, looking out over Southampton from Dock Gate 46. I was hoping to get a shot of the ship in her berth but she is so massive and we were too close on the quayside. That's a shot for another day maybe ;-) we won't have wifi whilst at sea and I doubt I'll be lugging my iPad around during our various ports of call, so catch you all later :-)
