Non Canine OCD
Regardless of any aches and pains, NOTHING will stop Flash doing what he considers to be his duty. #1 on the list is controlling the horses and that means 24/7, if required. About #13 on the list is herding up the chickens at bedtime but that's only once a day and less than 5 minutes. There is a long list of his duties. Luna on the other hand doesn't have any, unless you consider killing Frisbees, a duty.
In his younger years, accompanying Angie out for a ride meant leading from the front for the entire walk. That way he could check there were no brown bears, lions, tigers or similar lying in wait and if necessary slow down a bolting horse. Nowadays he struggles to keep up and even on occasions won't initially start out on the ride but comes indoors and spends all his time yowling until I get the call from Angie to bring him out to accompany her for the last 30 minutes or so of the homeward ride.
However as today, he still prefers to set out with them and seems quite pleased when he then sees me appear with the car to chauffeur him home. However he won't get in the car until Angie diappears from view - he has to check Luna is doing a half-way good job of protection. In todays Blip he kept looking until Angie turned in to the tress in the background, where a few minutes earlier I had met MrB at his "hunting lodge" and had a quick chat.
Ice Saints continue, getting colder and wetter by the hour. Today is St Servatius, forgot yesterday was St Pancras (as in the appropriately named London Eurostar Terminal - appropriate as so much else is in the UK: St Pancras, a Roman died at 14 and never saw Londinium. Back in 2014, I listed the 5 German Ice Saints and their origins. Different regions and countries only use a few of the dates.
PS OCD in dogs is taken to be the obsessive behaviour associated with things like tail chasing. Apparently they don't have an obsessive control disorder.
