To the Rough Bounds

of Knoydart. That's how this remote and very rugged peninsula is referred to. There is no road vehicle access yet there is a small community at Inverie and a few other isolated houses.
Knoydart is home to the most westerly mainland Munro. It and its two rugged neighbours are among the most remote if the keen walker decides to take access without the assistance of a boat. I must say the easy approach by the small passenger ferry on Loch Nevis from Mallaig presents an amazing impression of what is about to come for the eager and excited climber.
