London river

Thought the Thames seemed awfully high this afternoon as we walked along the Embankment after a lovely 5 hours in the company of friends we've not seen for years. It seemed appropriate that the paintings in the National Gallery should provide the stimulus for some of the most engaging conversation I've had in ages, and we walked back to Westminster Tube through the sticky afternoon heat in a state of exhaustion.

But I still think the river was high ...
