Tilling the mud

Just as we left our hotel this morning we spotted this farmer ploughing his land with a water buffalo.  It was hard work considering the fact that the soil is waterlogged mud.   I suppose it will be used for rice planting.

My extra shows a farmer whose house we went to where we were given free reign to poke around in her house.     Like the farmer we visited in Vietnam last year she has her coffin ready prepared in the back room.  She is 3 years younger than I am!

We are off to the rice terraces tomorrow,  last tourist visit before we fly to Shanghai for our return home.  Fingers crossed for the weather.   The rainy season has apparently arrived early this year.
