Gracie

Firstly we walked down to the village to vote - only for the police commissioner in our area. Then after calling at the toy shop to get Thomas, who's coming for the weekend, a dinosaur sticker and colouring book, we walked up the hill to visit an old friend Tom who is now home recovering from a stroke. He is making good progress with motor skills but stills struggles to find the correct word. (Some of us do that without having had a stroke).

His youngest daughter Louisa, who went to primary school with #3 daughter, called with her new baby. She and her husband have just left the navy after serving as nurses in Iraq, Afghanistan and with Ebola victims in Sierra Leone. It's so wonderful that after lots of miscarriages she has a lovely healthy little girl. I'm sure the joy after having his 13th grandchild will help in Tom's recoverly.
