Army Poster

Great weekend meeting with the decendants of the soldiers who died in Fromelles, France in 1916.

Spotted this poster on the wall of the hall we were meeting in.

Heard about young men being given ''white feathers'', usually by women, when these young men hadn't registered/enlisted for war. One of these young men was a young teenager who died at Fromelles in 1916. He lied about his age and forged his mother's signature on the papers all because he had been given a white feather. He felt humiliated that he was accused of being a coward.
In his registration photo he looked so young.
Why would someone give a young boy a white feather?

I've been away so had to backblip two.
