BLACK PEAK
This far oft mountain is on the other side of the lake, & it won't be long before it is covered in snow. I am standing on the left hand side of the garden, next to the table you could see in yesterday's blip, looking back.
Another busy day. Surprise visit from Sir Tim Wallis who wanted to tell me today was his Mothers birthday, had she lived she would have been 107. She died when she was 92, which I think was a good innings. Janice Wallis was a formidable gardener who is responsible for all the red roses planted along the fence line at the Wanaka airport. A lovely lady, she was renowned for her rhododendrons & roses. Sir Tim, in his wheel chair was driven here by his full time nurse, Hilary Rose Smith.
An unpleasant afternoon with gusty wind & lots of white caps on the lake. Yesterday's rain produced 4mm. I could spit that much !!
