Blossom

Two huge Craster kippers for breakfast. "Eat bread and strawberry jam to stop them repeating" said our host. Seemed to work & didn't eat again till the evening.

We spent the day in Alnwick. Great weather and good times generally. The hillside of cherry trees at Alnwick Castle wasn't quite in blossom, but there were a few in the walled garden that showed what it would look like in a week or so's time.

For some urban relief we wandered into town, and ended up in Barter Books, in the old station. Excellent place for browsing, reading and coffee - but also responsible for unearthing the original "Keep calm..." poster and kicking off that meme.

An even better dinner tonight at the Craster Restaurant. And chocolate cake waiting back at the B&B when we got home. Excess.
