New Bridge

These are the steps of a new footbridge over the railway line at Eastwood - between Hebden Bridge and Todmorden.
It's a very posh bridge, replacing an iron bridge which opened in1905.
It seems a lot of expense to take nothing more than a little used footpath over the railway when a diversion of maybe 200 yards will achieve the same result.  I suppose Rights of Way have to be preserved.
