Lucky Dog!
Craig (see extra - note the tiniest pencil behind his ear) our master tiler who did the path, arrived at 9am to replace the old, bent, twisted, dull brass doorstep with a bright, shiny, new, very brassy one. It took him a couple of hours to do the job - and all he requires is a smell of my coffee (he's not allowed to drink it any more due to overindulgence in the past).
Then Kerri and Luke arrived to take Archie out for the first of his two walks today. He loves them and makes such a fuss!
An hour or so later, Craig and I were sitting on the bench chewin' the fat when Archie came back from his walk - the new, very brassy doorstep was in place. He noticed it straight away, and stopped in his tracks and stared at it, unsure if he should approach it. He notices if anything is even slightly different, as he has to be on guard. It was only when I went in first and called him that he took a great leap over the strange new sight. You can't be too careful, can you, Archie?
JR and I both went to the gym, at different times. I completed my very low key circuit. I'm struggling on Level 1 (I did keep jabbing at the screen to get Level 0, but there isn't one) on the bike, while some old person beside is whizzing along on Level 19! And I have to reset all the weights to zero after some he-man has just been lifting a ton.
Then in the afternoon, Archie's other borrower, Laura, came to take him out. What a lucky dog today.
When Archie came back from his second big walk, we popped over to visit J because I needed to print out a label for my free two year warranty dog clipper blade sharpening, which is rapidly running out. J is very excited about our present from Holland, so we can't wait to test it out. It involves very tasty morsels...
