Elegance

I saw this image of a dragonfly on a card in a local bookshop and couldn't resist it. Here it is, with the reflection of a now fading bunch of flowers on my living room table. There is something very beautiful about these creatures - their interesting and intricate structure, their bright colours which flash in the sunlight and their free flight.

A day of mixed sunshine and heavy showers with a very cold wind. There was snow in the north of England and in Scotland today. The sweet peas I planted several weeks ago in a tub in the garden are just peaking through the soil. Despite being in a sheltered spot on my south facing patio I can't see them making much progress until it warms up a little.
