Workaday
And so we embark on another household task, replacing the dishwasher. These things have a tendency to get out of hand in my experience. Replacing the dishwasher can, in extreme cases, lead to an extension being built or at the very least a whole new kitchen installed to accomodate an item costing less than £300.
Almost so far so good. Bit of a wild goose chase to look at dishwashers as the local store only had one intergrated slimline dishwasher on display but the helpful salesman was able to provide information and guidance.
As you can see we've pulled the old machine out so that we were able to measure, remeasure and measure again and are confident, in theory, that the model we've selected will fit into the hole where the defunct dishwasher used to sit. After some serious cleaning in the space, the old machine has been returned to its slot pending delivery of the replacement.
Fortunately we were easily able to locate a drawer front from when we had the kitchen installed. The old washer is semi-integrated and has a door panel but no drawer front. The new one is fully integrated. Looking forward to the fun of fixing the two panels to the new machine.
The only snag came about was when I decided to change the water filter under the sink. We'd taken all the detritus out from under the sink to disconnect the dishwasher so that needed cleaning too, so at the same time I replaced the filter. Ha! The filter now leaks. What will this lead to I wonder? A whole new kitchen? Or at the very least a new tap? It's a Bank Holiday this weekend so I won't really know until Tuesday.
