Just an odd day

Well, managed to wander off with most of Alex's possessions yesterday; an iMac, a bunch of drives, a drive toaster, a bike (of all things), jerry cans, and so forth. Not sure I could really strip much more out of his place if I tried! But he seemed okay when I loaded Goat with all his stuff....

Saw my sisters as well last night and got into a three hour traffic jam. Oh how I haven't missed traffic jams.

But something occurred to me whilst sitting in miles of queuing traffic - this was eating up my quality time with my two sisters. Here I am meant to be spending time with them - but I'm stuck in traffic. This is not a quality of life I enjoy and frankly - it's another reason I'm glad that I left. No one seems to understand this concept of quality of life in the UK - no one - because if they did they wouldn't put up with this sort of shit.

By the time I saw my sisters, I was utterly knackered and missed an evening with a couple of friends just down the road. I just could not even conscience getting back in Goat and fighting a bit more traffic. And I wasn't going to be much company when I saw them - i'd pass out and that'd be that. So myself and my little sister stayed at with my other sister for the night. I think she rather enjoyed having me and Jaq spending the night at her house.

But today I have errands to run. Just seen my grandparents, and they look old. Not sure how old they are, but I know one is 90 something. They've both aged in the last year. Their 70th Wedding Anniversary is next year and I think I should suggest to K that we fly in for that. Can't help feeling that there won't be many anniversaries left.

Popped in to see Kevin which was nice. Think he's missed us all since everyone left.

Managed to see Jon & Peggy for a few minutes as well. Still gutted I couldn't make their house last night. Miss those two terribly when I'm at home.

And now on my way to B&Q and Halfords! Odd swapping Lowes for B&Q. Get this done, and back to my sisters house to get some sleep before I leave for Italy.
