horns of wilmington's cow

Can you get more Scottish?

Skye is pretty much throwing everything at us just now. The forecast for the morning lived up to expectations, with snow and hail doing its thing horizontally on our bit of the island. We struck north to do a loop before better forecast weather, only to find a pocket of blue sky near Harlosh, so we headed out to the point there, knowing there was some great shoreline.

The pocket of blue sky didn't last long.

Didn't last long at all.

Cold and wet, but enjoying the rockpools, c'mon Skye, have at ye!

Late lunch at the excellent Elishadder Art Cafe, continuation of the drive returning south, taking in a snowy Storr and incumbent Old Man, and emerging into late sunlight.

The coos posed (I've been waiting for the right light for them), and as Mel then snoozed I hopped on the bike to roll down to Elgol harbour, to pitch myself against the ridiculous climb out. I don't think I've ever ridden anything as steep... On the main section Strava talls me I'm 33rd out of 99 who have ridden it. I'll take that. 300ft climbed in 0.6 miles, whether or not I attempt to improve my time is probably 'weather' or not.

I've now some homer work to do while supping a G&T. Full on holiday so far.
