Escape to the Bamboo Forest

A hike along a stream, up a hill, next to rows of green tea bushes, and through a bamboo forest was much needed for my nature-loving heart. The Chinese friend who grew up in this area enjoyed the adventure as much as I did, but a few other friends labeled themselves "city people" and moaned about heat, bug bites, and the lack of civilization most of the trip. We drug them along anyways, claiming that the fresh air would do their lungs good. The city is my home for now, but an occasional escape keeps me sane.
