Coastal erosion at Birling Gap

Continuing the theme from yesterday, this is the National Trust centre at Birling Gap in East Sussex. They have a visitors' centre which notes that although the average annual erosion is 0.4m a year, it's 0.7m here. As you can see, the seating area by the café is shrinking.

There's still a fabulous view - see extra. The other extra is of a  Murray six shutter system (scroll down the entry for UK) which was a type of semaphore.
