Late in the afternoon
Today has been unfeasibly long and, yes, golden!
I had booked a stall in Nailsworth's monthly market, and when on arrival I was allocated a spot in the shade, which happened to be on the main route too.
So yes, it was cold, and a little windy, but I sold around thirty cards and some stationery, which was enough to cover my costs and the stall rental, though not my brand new professional card stand! I chatted to people I had not seen in years, and found the traders friendly, too, with discounts on bacon rolls.... One trader even bought four cards from me when I told him how many I had to sell to hit break-even point!
I meant to take photos, but was far too busy chatting. That's how it is. I used to run stalls in Nailsworth years ago, selling my hand blended aromatherapy products. I still make them, but I gave up the stalls because of the recession and changes in EU Law. Besides, that street was a sort of wind-tunnel! Mortimer gardebs, where I was today, is more central and open.
I love the fact that all the dog-mummies in Nailsworth bring their designer dogs to the market! I saw some posh pooches, and a gigantic Labradoodle guide dog.
Steve picked me up at lunchtime and I have been lazing around the garden. It's sunny but cold. I have another stall tomorrow, but I do not need to unpack and repack the car, thank goodness. I am also in the middle of organising a day trip to Birmingham for some over 70s! Needless to say, this was not my idea in the first place. I can think of easier cities to visit.
This shot is of our cabin in the garden, which h Steve helped build eight summers ago.
