with perfect weather to make a start on the boarding around part of the pond. It has taken most of the week to reach this stage although work now comes to a halt until July. After the pond was constructed last summer John had an idea to build a walkway, giving us an area to sit and like today, lie face down looking into the pond. The materials arrived on Monday along with a great spell of weather.

There is much going on and the imported snails have laid eggs against the liner, we will watch with interest. And when looking yesterday the nose of a newt appeared from under a plant stem but soon disappeared when one of us moved.
