Tiny Tuesday Tortoise(?)

Several years ago we were in a tiny restaurant in Padstow and these little things were all over the place. I think they are supposed to be tortoises; the ball on the back is loose so that when you roll it forward on the four ball 'legs' the ball on the back rolls backwards. They were (apparently) made by a local woodworker in various sizes - the biggest was about twelve inches high but we bought this one which was the smallest at only about two inches to the top of the head. I have to say the price was pretty small too - only about a fiver.

And the restaurant? Well, it wasn't one of the Rick Stein ones although we did eat there on the same trip. It was called Margot's and the food was excellent, and with only about five tables in the place the atmosphere was really cosy. Sadly, in writing up this Blip I checked and see that it closed about a year ago.
