The Early Photographer Catches The Bird

Awoke at 6am and staggered into the kitchen shortly thenafter to brew a wake-up coffee. Spotted something out of place in the garden.

It looks like a garden lawn ornament standing next to the cast iron bird bath. Gnome matter, I reached for my camera and captured this shot of our local heron.

I assume it had either been or had tried fishing in the pool below the waterfall in our grounds. I don't know if it was successful, the Lam Brook is a little more overgrown than normal, perhaps as a result of the wet summer.

The heron heard the balcony door open in order that I might get a better shot, and quickly flew off. Now back to the writing...
