Preserving resources

I was determined to produce an image for Mono Monday today, but was rather at a loss to know what to do.

Mum's operation had to be cancelled (see yesterday for details) so I was free to go to the last committee meeting before the festival. There were lots of loose ends to pick up so we worked hard.

On the way home I stopped beside this large bottle bank. It is near the Military Road but there are only a few dwellings nearby. Perhaps the fact that one is the Twice Brewed pub is significant.

The Sill, which is the new tourist development at Once Brewed, is beginning to take shape. The metal frame is rising from the ground.

Post Hadrian's Wall saw early recycling in this area. Stones were taken to build local houses and walls. No such recycling is allowed now of course.
