Bulgarian weekend workshop

I spent the whole weekend at a dance workshop in Oxford with a wonderful Bulgarian dance teacher who'd come over to teach our Oxford group, and others from around the UK, some new and very complicated dances!  Great workout for the mind as well as the body!  My husband took some photos at the party on Saturday night when we all wore  our Bulgarian costumes.  I'm second from left!

The first extra shows Vasil Gerlimov, our teacher, at the party.  The second extra is of a gaida player called Ilia Uchikov (a gaida is the Bulgarian version of bagpipes!) with a wonderful singer from the Rhodope region called Mariana Eltomova.  They had also flown over for the weekend so we were very spoilt indeed.

Great weekend all round - I felt as if I was in Bulgaria, not Oxford!
