Scouting

One of the annual events for the Cornish Scouting Movement is 'Coast 2 Coast'.
Each year those that wish to walk from one side of Cornwall to the other, this year it was Padstow to Mevagissey.
Joshua was dropped at the Eden Project on Friday night.
Saturday morning after a night under canvas and following breakfast they were bussed to Padstow to start.
The ground underfoot was soft and muddy but a warm sunny day ensured that they were in good spirits. Twenty six miles later they arrived back at the Eden Project, footsore and tired.
An evening meal and another night under canvas for some very tired young people.
Sunday morning they set off for the last leg, the walk to Mevagissey where once they had registered at the final 'way point' they were bussed back to the Eden Project to break camp and await collection by their parents.
Today's photo;
In the left hand one Joshua is in the centre in his bright orange woolly hat.
The right one shows their route, thirty one miles in total, a long hike by any measure, especially for a fifteen year old.
