Vines and climbs at Bannockburn
A gentle drive after reluctantly leaving cosy and pretty Orchard Cottage near Arrowtown, brought us to golden Bannockburn where old gold sluicings and miles and miles of vines show today's emphasis on the wine making industry in this breathtaking part of New Zealand's high country. We dined royally at Mt Difficulty enjoying a modest glass of Chardonnay and Pinot Gris whilst looking out over the vineyards and mountains towards Cromwell.
