Underwater delights

I've not the foggiest what this creature is: it's about 10 cm across in real life, but the tank had lots of tiny siblings, scooting through the water like Joe ninety.

I took this in the marine plants area of Kew's Palm House. It was a bit miserable and drizzly outside, but inside, with the banana trees, mango plants and exotic plants, you could imagine it was suuny out.

Shortie and her new friend found plenty to look at, and the marine section had both plants and fish to catch the imagination.

In the afternoon, back in Hanwell, our hosts countered the on-off wet weather with a marquee, a b-b-q, and more friends that I don't get to see often enough. Good company and good food!
