All the world's a stage

We ventured over to the South Bank, to the Globe and then on to Borough market - all in all, a great afternoon wandering along the Thames.

We went to the Globe on Shortie's request, as there's an episode of Dr Who set there. Maybe not the highest brow reason for going, but she thoroughly enjoyed the visit.

I hadn't been since a showing of Macbeth a good few years ago, so it was very different seeing it in the afternoon, with no audience.

Borough market was a culinary sensation - fresh, first flush Darjeeling, spicy chorizo, goats' milk honey ice cream, and Kentish strawberries and raspberries. Great stuff.

Getting back to Hanwell, Shortie had a good time playing with our hosts' children, to round off the day.
