A lesson learnt
I try always to look for people's virtues and not their faults but today I slipped! I worked yesterday as it was raining and postponed my trip to the Wash bird reserve till today. It rained all morning but there was a window of brighter weather in the afternoon. I took my gear out to the hides and met a twitcher by the reed beds who invited me to look at the reed warblers he was trying to capture. I got one shot but they were very elusive. I went on to the hide and then realised I had left my camera bag next to the twitcher. I ran back but he had gone and it was not there. I cursed my foolishness and berated twitchers as a breed until it dawned on me that I might have left it in the boot. Sure enough it was there, and to reinforce my guilt at my over hasty judgement, as I walked back to the hide, another twitcher came up to me saying he had been looking for me as I had left my glasses behind! Mea culpa, mea culpa, mea maxima culpa!
I posted a Flickr set here.
