Memories of Spring

A beautiful Spring day. The magnolia trees are in full bloom and the first hint of green appearing on some of the trees. I heard chiff chaffs at the weekend on the old railway line and today saw and heard my first pair of black caps for this year. These birds always remind me of my grandad as he always listened out for them and told us when he heard them for the first time each Spring.

Liz and Steve scattered mums ashes in the river near the village today. I think of mum every day and today I was thinking how much she would have been enjoying the warmth and sunshine of Spring and commenting on the birds and butterflies and plants in the garden. Tomorrow we are going to get some rain - good for my broadbeans which are sprouting away in pots on my patio!
