Garden wildlife

There is much stirring of wildlife in the garden with frogspawn in the pond and bullfinches are helping themselves to the new buds on the cherry tree.
 
Meanwhile I spotted this grey squirrel digging up a nut and moving it to a new spot about ten feet further along in a different flowerbed.
He meticulous patted it down in its new home.
 
Sorry but I couldn’t resist the temptation to go out and dig it up. Now here comes the surprise- it was a horse chestnut and the nearest horse chestnut tree is at least half a mile away.
 
PS I carefully buried the nut again.
