Siskins
Taking the car to Preston today for it's annual service afforded me the opportunity to visit family over in Lytham St.Annes - quite possibly (OK definitely) my least favourite place - so somewhere I struggle to want to blip. We had a pleasant enough wander along the shoreline - but the flat expanse of muddy nothing leaves me cold - and the work they are currently doing to regenerate the sand dunes is at the 'total mess' stage.
Back home to a bouncy Pushka we had a quick wander up to the stone circle - but the flat grey sky didn't make for great views - and so far the ducklings have not appeared. So returning home & wandering down the garden I was pleased to see these Siskins on the feeders for the first time this year - whilst they're relatively common in the area they've always been conspicuous by their absence from our garden.
Whilst not a great shot I did like how this pair managed to show off both sides of this beautiful little finch.
