Duckbill...Times Eight

It's that time of year again, when the area farm stores have baby chickens and ducks for sale.

It used to be a sure sign of Spring at the post office when we would get in big boxes of baby chicks. I would come in the back door, and hear that sweet sound of Spring. "Cheep-cheep. Cheep-cheep." I would then fold back a corner of the box, and take one out. Nothing quite like the softness of a baby chick. Our clerks would call the farmer, and they would come pick them up, so the babies wouldn't have to take a long ride in a car or a mail truck.

Neither the ducks or chicks would pose very well, but I at least got a few pairs of eyes in this one.

Perhaps I'll try the other farm store to get some pics...of the chicks.
