Do you like Eggs and Bacon?
This (Bird's-foot Trefoil) is a cheery-looking plant of roadside verges, meadows, path edges etc. etc. You get the picture. It's an important foodplant for certain species of butterfly and bumble-bee and it can fix nitrogen, too (remember your school science lessons?). When it goes to seed, its pod arrangement resembles that of a bird's claw - hence the name. In this snap, Lady's Bedstraw can also be seen. We'll see if we can get an image of that plant, soon.
Incidentally, the Title refers to one of its common names.
