Union Canal, Fountainbridge Basin.
Apart from the small lochans and puddles distributed over the Meadows after weeks of heavy rain, this is the nearest stretch of water to the Dower House.
It is amazing to know that this basin at the end of the Union Canal is less than a mile from the centre of Edinburgh.
From here you can travel on water or on the tow path, all the way to the centre of Glasgow, via the Falkirk Wheel and the Forth and Clyde Canal - about 40+ miles.
The canal is home to ducks , swans, and coots, with the towpath verges full of wild flowers. It makes a watery artery of loveliness through the suburbs of the City to the West Lothian countryside.
House boats are moored in places along its length, some permanent and some tourist.
At this Fountainbridge end of the canal, there is one acting as a floating hotel and another as an architects' office.
In this blip, the space on the right hand side at the end of the new flats was once home to the Fountain Brewery, demolished last year, with offices planned for the future.
This morning with the sunshine and calm conditions, the cloud and building reflections were dramatic.
