Willow Catkins
Grey Willow - Salixcinerea - I think...
Today I am in the far south of Sweden, in Kristianstad for a conference, where I am meeting many old friends, perhaps for the last time as next time this conference rolls around I will be a pensioner!!.
This part of the country is much closer to spring, the warm green spring that is. Buds are beginning to open and these exuberant catkins on the willows of the wetlands are also beginning to blossom.Pansies and daffodils are blooming, blossom is out on some trees and the sound of birdsong is everywhere.
Life is good!
(Three more pictures of the day, and the spring can be found here.
