Goodbye Winter Tyres

The twice-yearly task that is another mark of the changing seasons here, switching between winter and summer tyres.
Here you see the two types of tyre.  We’ve only changed the tyres on one of our two cars so if we get a sudden snowstorm  (not an impossibility) we can still get to work safely.
The summer tyres give better mileage, are quieter, and are environmentally better, so there is a motivation to get them on the car as soon as possible.  On the other hand we live at the top of a hill so the desire to get home motivates not being too quick off the mark.
Here’s hoping winter really has gone for the next months.
