Tiny Tuesday

A tiny detail from a huge amaryllis flower.  

We have had the bulb for years.  It lives on the kitchen windowsill and it's been an age since it last flowered.  Indeed it could be that it has not flowered since Amy fell out of high school.  A happy coincidence that her new uniform is scarlet red too and the first new flower opened yesterday, on the day she started her new school.  Day two went well although tonight Amy is very sad because Ruth, who came home to see Amy start school, is going back to Wales tomorrow :-(
