Colourful Conifer...........

    Been out in the garden today. Glorious sunshine. Makes a nice change from the wet weather we have been having.

    This is part of a columnar conifer we have  and I have not seen these florets before and this was only one branch of the plant. It is a mass of colour which unusual. One normally associates conifers just being evergreen.
     I do not know what the variety of conifer this is, may be one of you may know. 
I think a visit to a local garden centre will be in order to find out.
This looks good with a black background.
