Pooley Bridge

A slow start to the day followed by a visit to the studio looking for a piece of equipment which turned out to be at home!   From there to the Lodge for an hour or so's gardening.  When we had finished we decided to treat our selves to an Ice Cream in Pooley Bridge.

We managed to find a parking place without having to pay.  I object to paying to park when your aren't going to be there more than a few minutes.  Having got the Ice Creams we wandered over the new bridge to the car park.

The new (temporary) bridge isn't a patch visually on what was there and doesn't make it easy to take shots from the bridge any more (only one foot way, high sides covered in smallish mesh metal!),  It still seemed right to do a shot of the bridge, you can compare it with the old here.  IT may not be pretty but it will allow considerably more water through more quickly.

I hope it is replaced more quickly than the other "temporary" bridge in the area at Langwathby - it has been there since 1965!
