Oystercatcher......

......watching the sun go down with his mate fossicking amongst the cracks rather than taking in the view.

Our little bach is right on the edge of the coast with a cave close by, the clap of thunderous noise as the sea surges in and out is amazing and then the 'whoosh' is something else, it's like our private Punakaiki Blowhole especially during the king tides at present.

Earlier today before heading out I had a go with long exposure which is taken from our deck. The stones below are all sizes mid tan which glitter in the light when wet and rumble as the tide pulls away, the view out is looking onto 'The Boot' with Seal Island beyond. Seal Island can only be reach with the tide is way, way out. Along this stretch of coastline are an abundance of our native flax bushes which have flower spikes with hanging black pods, I couldn't seem to get clear of them.

Yesterday was the absolute 'pitts' with my eyes, it was a travel day.  Thankfully with lots of drops, nasal spray and a brilliant good nights sleep they have improved throughout today and I've been able to enjoy the sights of today which included a trip to Denniston Coalfield which was amazing, coffee and cake at Granity, spending some time round Westport and then a wander along 'our' beach as the sun was going down, pure magic!

There is so much to say but just being by the sea, listening to oystercatchers and gulls, smelling the sea air and taking in the view is my kind of place.

Happy Sunday everyone :)
