Jonquils
"When you take a flower in your hand and really look at it, it's your world for the moment"
American artist Georgia O'Keeffe (1887 - 1986)
Mum was able to come to St Luke's this morning, though we had to use the tiny church car park so that she didn't have to walk too far. She did have to sit down during one of the hymns, but other than that did really well with all the required standing. It was good to see her amongst friends, and it certainly give her a lift to be there. After a rest for 40 minutes, we went out again for our Sunday roast lunch which was as tasty as ever. I hope for Mum's sake that this heaviness and weakness in her legs is not permanent - she's finding it very frustrating and hates losing such a big part of her independence.
I'm amazed at how long these jonquils have lasted indoors. I gave them to Mum at the beginning of the week, though I think they'll be turning beyond their best tomorrow.
